Available for new projects
Python backends that stay up. From code to server.
Manual deployments that keep breaking? A system nobody dares to touch since its developer left? I build your Python services, ship them with GitLab CI and Docker, and run the Linux servers behind them – on AWS or hosted in Germany at Hetzner.
- Experience
- 10+ years of Python backends and Linux servers, 6 of them freelance
- Focus
- Backend development, CI/CD, server operations
- Where
- Remote across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, on site when needed
Where it starts
When to Call Me
It usually starts with one of these three situations. If you recognize yours, let’s talk.
Deployments Keep Breaking
Your backend has grown, but releases are still done by hand – often at night or on weekends. Then the debugging starts.
What I do
I build a pipeline with GitLab CI and Docker that tests, builds and ships every change automatically. Deployments become routine instead of a risk.
The Developer Is Gone
The system runs your business, but since its developer left, nobody dares to touch it. Every change is a gamble.
What I do
I get to know it, document what is there and stabilize it. Afterwards your team can work on it again.
Sensitive Data Needs a Safe Place
Health or member data does not belong on just any server. You want to know where it lives.
What I do
I set up your servers at Hetzner in Germany, configured with GDPR in mind, and keep running them. On AWS if that fits better.
Services
Backend, Delivery and Operations From One Engineer
One contact for everything between code and server. Nothing gets stuck between development, operations and hosting.
Backend Development
New services and APIs in Python, extensions and rework of existing systems. With tests and documentation, so your team can keep working on them.
- Python

- asyncio
- pydantic
- pytest
- PostgreSQL
- Redis
CI/CD and Containers
Pipelines that test, build and ship every change automatically. Reproducible builds in Docker instead of manual work on the server.
- GitLab CI
- Docker
- Shell
Servers and Operations
Setup and administration of Linux servers, in the cloud on AWS or hosted in Germany at Hetzner.

Code Audits and Architecture Consulting
A written assessment: current state, risks and next steps. Often the first step before I take over a system.
How I Work
How I Work
On time, properly documented, exactly to spec: that is the standard for every project. Here is how it runs.
Initial Call
You describe the situation, I ask questions. Afterwards you know whether and how I can help.
Assessment
I get an overview of code, pipeline and servers and write down requirements and risks. Understand first, then change.
Implementation
In small, traceable steps. You see each one in your merge requests and issues.
Handover
Documentation is part of the delivery. Your system won’t depend on me – your team can carry on.

Experience
10+ Years of Backends and Operations
I work for startups, mid-sized companies and NGOs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Most projects come through referrals.
- years of Python backends
- 10+
- years of Linux server administration
- 10+
- years freelancing
- 6
- Clients
- For example a Munich health startup and NGOs
- Good fit
- Python backends, CI/CD, Linux servers – from new builds to taking over legacy systems
- Not my field
- Frontend and full-stack projects, non-Python backends
- Engineering standard
- Lean systems: standard library before frameworks, as few dependencies as possible. Less that can break.
